Supporting Access and Excellence at UC Berkeley

The Operational Excellence Program Office is a vital part of a campus-wide strategy to stay financially strong in ways that are sustainable over time.  To that end, we provide a range of services and tools that support revenue growth or efficiency gains when coupled with a disciplined methodology, which is deeply rooted in a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

OUR Vision 

The vision of the Operational Excellence Program Office is to play a vital role in our campus’ financial sustainability by cultivating innovation to produce new revenue opportunities and by supporting continuous improvement to drive ongoing efficiencies.  

We will assess our success against three indicators:

  1. Our ability to respond quickly and completely to faculty, staff, or students with promising ideas to support growth or efficiency
  2. A robust revenue generation program that supports unit-level entrepeurship in support of UC Berkeley's mission
  3. Ongoing operational improvements that enable world-class administrative support of UC Berkeley’s world-class teaching and research.

OUR MISSION 

The Operational Excellence Program Office advances UC Berkeley’s financial sustainability and ongoing improvement by partnering with the campus community to support ideas that generate new net revenue, reduce costs, or improve operations by offering expertise, services and tools, and financing.
